Dear Saba (a.k.a. my little one month old)

I can't believe you've been in my arms for a whole month! It's been such a fantastic month. I'm not sure if every mother feels this way, but I truly feel like you are the best baby in the world. You don't cry much (only when you're really hungry and I don't take you seriously) and you're always in such a good mood. You don't like it much when I put you down, but truthfully I don't mind that at all because I really never want to put you down. I love that when you start to fuss all I have to do is pick you up and give you a kiss on your nose and that quiets you immediately. I love that you always sleep snuggled right up against me and that we now have it down so that if you're up in the night all I have to do is put a boob in your mouth and you fall right back to sleep after your midnight snack. I expected to be very tired this past month, but I haven't been at all. You're a fantastic sleeper (you get that from me) and you're also very patient (you get that from your Daddy). The one thing that everyone comments on is how much hair you have! You do have a lot of hair! It started off really dark, but I've noticed that it is lightening up quite a bit. I swear I can almost get your hair into pigtails (I practice daily).
Your eyes have started to show some recognition for your Daddy and me. We notice that your eyes follow us and you are soothed by the sound of our voices. Your Daddy says that you're quiet whenever you hear my voice, but I have noticed that you're pretty partial to the little songs he's made up with your name in them (even though I act like I'm sick of hearing these same songs over and over again I'm sure you've noticed that sometimes I sing them in the car because I can't think of anything else to sing to you...but that will be our little secret).Things have been pretty busy around here (I'm sure you've noticed that your Daddy is studying all the time). Daddy is studying to take a very hard test in November, but after he takes the test he's all ours...and you can proceed to slobber and sleep with him to your hearts content...he'll like that.Saba, I am truly blessed to have you as my little one - you make me smile constantly and I am so happy that you picked me to be your Mommy.Love, Mama
