Red Rock Fantasy in Sedona

We went to see the lights again this year! A time honored tradition (three years running) was graced by this family:
It was cold!
Exhibit A:Ana would have looked at the camera but her neck was frozen looking the other way.
Exhibit B:What's that you ask? Is that the abominable snowman next to me? Why no, that is actually my husband dressed up like Nanook of the North.
Lastly, Exhibit C:Megan physically turned into a snowman, and I wasn't far behind!
My parents also played a great Mr. & Mrs. Clause ...they really liked how their reindeer were on Segways and wearing sunglasses! At the end of the viewing of lights... mom and I stuffed, I mean, put our ballots into the ballot box. I can't say that there was any clear winner this year - according to us, the free apple cider was pretty tops...but I don't think you can vote for apple cider when the goal is the best Christmas lights. Oh well, at least we also completed one more thing on our list this season...terrify Ana with snowmen. Check.

Happy Birthday to Manda, Happy Birthday to Megan, Happy Birthday to Us, Happy Birthday to Us

Yesterday, Megan and I celebrated 29 years of life. We had a fantastic day visiting my grandparents, eating Mexican food and drinking our share of margaritas!Emery also seemed to enjoy his margarita drinking. We really enjoyed spending time with the family and sicking, I mean watching, the kids with our husbands. Dereje even had time to pose with Emery for their GQ shot...next stop, maybe a sears catalog.

A little back blogging: The Reherasal Dinner

The rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding was fantastic. Dereje's family had brought Ethiopian clothing for everyone...so, in dress, we had lots of Ethiopians there! Here's my Dad and Dereje in beautiful Ethiopian shirts:Here's Dereje's brother and his sister-in law along with my sister, Megan. It's pretty easy to give gifts when you only have one groomsman (Best Man) and one bridesmaid (Matron of Honor)!
I love that my brother and my dad are the bookends in this next picture...they totally blend
Lastly, here's a picture of Dereje and me with my grandparents. They both did a fine job of eating with their hands and drinking honey wine!
It was such a good time...lots of rain, lots of merriment, and lots of Ethiopian food eating!

Proof that Dereje and I did get married last Saturday!  It's the only picture that I have so far of the two of us...but I'm working on it! Hopefully this will appease the masses for a while! 

I know...I know...I know

I know I have to get pictures on here of the wedding. Unfortunately, when it's your own wedding you're not really thinking about taking pictures...and everyone else in your immediate family is also so busy that they don't get to take pictures either! So, I am at the mercy of my photographer (and family members/friends sending CDs)! Until, I get pictures of the wedding I will resort to putting up awesome pictures from Emery's baptism (night before the wedding). Dereje's family did an amazing job at getting him the most amazing Ethiopian garb!I promise that wedding pictures are soon to come!
