That thing called "mothering instinct"

One of the neatest things about watching Ana and Emery is to watch how Ana likes to "take care" of Emery...I put that in (") quotation marks because often her "mothering" looks something more like "smothering".Before Emery came along Ana had plenty of practice at being a Momma Bear carrying around her baby, Mimi, in a sling. Mimi gets quite the ride when Ana decides to wear a sling...she often gets a little bit of food, in fact, the other day Mimi got a good dose of teething tablets, which tells me that Mimi's molars were likely coming in - probably why Ana, I mean Mimi was so crabby and demanding.
Now that Ana gets to practice her "mothering" skills on a real live baby - well, she's pretty thrilled. Luckily, she has yet to stuff teething tablets down Emery's mouth, but she has tried to carry him in a sling - which looks something like her putting on a sling and look longingly at Emery and then back at us shaking our heads and telling her to go find her Mimi doll. Defeated, she usually tries to convince Azul to get into her sling before she forgets the whole thing and asks for cows milk...trade the cows milk for coffee and I'd say she kind of has "mothering" down.
