You mean I didn't talk about Halloween yet

Maybe that's because I'm trying to stretch out my conversation pieces to cover the whole month of November! It's also because we didn't do a whole lot for Halloween this year. It's still about 100 degrees in Phoenix and I don't think anyone trick-or-treats here (maybe that's just Phoenix though). Saba did dress for the occasion. She spent the day dressed in her cat clothes And then about 10 minutes dressed in her chili pepper costume (it was hot)! Then we had the situation of I didn't know whether Saba was eating her chili pepper costume or if the chili pepper costume was eating her...either way, we both decided that we had about enough of that.We decided that instead of staring at our front door, wishing will all of our might for trick-or-treaters we would just get out of the house for the evening and go for a drive in movie- that way we didn't have to be disappointed by absolutely no kids coming by and said non existent kids wouldn't have to be disappointed by the fact that I only bought animal crackers for them - really it was best that nobody came by - no chocolate can often translate to an egg or two being thrown at the mailbox.
So we've started a new Halloween tradition! Sushi at the drive in!
Something tells me that next year I won't be able to get away with nursing for the entire evening while eating Saba's weight in sushi!Maybe next year we'll find a fancy neighborhood that does some really good trick-or-treating - or maybe we'll just tell Saba that Halloween is the sacred holiday of sushi and it's only through perverse misinterpretation that people started to hand out candy - I can't wait till she has to explain that one to her therapist (that and the fact that when she was only 2 months old a chili pepper tried to eat her)!
