Happy Father-to-be Day!

We spent our weekend up in Camp Verde at my Grandma and Grandpa's house. From the pictures below it may look as if it was all fun and games, but Dereje certainly did his fair share of "Dada" work! He started by mowing the lawn, moved on to moving a desk for my Grandfather, proceeded to weed-whack the entire yard and finished his Sunday by using a blower to get rid of all of the evidence. It was a lot of work in 100 degree weather, but Dereje stuck it out like a champ!
Well, a champ who had a couple of margaritas in him! He said it helped him mow the lawn!
I spent my time "supervising" and trying to contain my allergies (my grandparent's have two very very hairy cats). If anybody asked me what I was doing I very stuffily replied "I'm busy over here making a baby" - I would then sneeze just to look a tad more pitiful.
To finish off everybody's hard work we celebrated at my Grandparent's local Mexican joint!
Indigestion...I mean, a good time was had by all!
p.s. Notice the alien shirt that Dereje is wearing throughout the photos - Thanks to Megan and Eric who got him that when they spent the night in Roswell, New Mexico!
Happy Papa Day to all the hard working Papas out there!

Hi Manda....I liked the name("Saba")and the picture of you guys with those big huts. You know what the Ethiopian tribes who wear such a hat often are called " Oromo"(The Ethiopian Texans). Dereje will tell you more about that. I can't wait to see Saba Motti. Zerihun

Hahahahahah, "Ethiopian Texans" that is hilarious Zerihun. And as a Texan (for now at least), I can completely appreciate that term for such a fashion statement.

Glad Dereje liked the shirt, I had no idea brown and neon green would suit him so well. I will make sure to file that in my mental rolodox for future fashion purchases.
