Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to Spokane, my friends, my work, my family, my house and my dog...it's been pretty overwhelming. There's just so much that I want to do, and so many people that I need to see. It's slightly exhausting...but, sadly, almost over. I leave for Botswana on April 19th. I will be in Philly for a couple of days of training before that; that's where I get to meet all of the people that I'm going over to Botswana with...I'm very excited about that...everybody has such varying and amazing backgrounds!
I have spent the last week in North Carolina with my sister's family. It's absolutely fantastic to spend a little time with my niece before I go. She's given me a couple of fun things to do while I've been here. She had a nice little fever the day after I got here and allowed us all to spend 48 hours in the hospital only to have the doctors tell us what we already knew...she's perfect in just about every way (minus the fever)! She was the happiest camper in the ER and I think she really enjoyed having the three of us at her disposal all hours of the day!
Other than that, we've been having a great time going to drive-in-movies, going for walks, shopping, and taking tons of pictures of Ana.
I will be leaving on Monday, so there's not much time, but I will post my contact information and training information for the next nine weeks in my next blog!

Enjoy Philly! Give me a call if you need some cool people to hang out with or some nice places to celebrate your upcoming journey (or should i say mateo!) Congrats on everything, it's awesome what you're doing, and incredibly admirable. Best wishes to you.
