All joking aside we are very excited that our visa process has come to an end and that Dereje will be a United States citizen in just three little years! All of the interviews to "prove our relationship" and "validate our marriage" have officially come to an end! Not that the interviews were terribly stressful as they pretty much consisted of me pointing at my ever growing stomach and uttering prophetic things such as, "duh" and "what, you think that people who don't have a real marriage end up knocked up like this?" But at least they're all over and we no longer have to look longingly at the calendar for another "date" with immigration. Look out Disneyland...here we come! (Don't worry, no Disneyland trips were made nor harmed during the creation of this blog post).

oh yeah, Dereje is legal!
I have completely neglected posting about the newly obtained status of my husband! Dereje has been transformed from a boy here on a Fiance Visa to a man here as a PERMANENT RESIDENT (he now walks a little faster, flips people off in traffic and says "awesome" while shopping at target...he's learning so fast how to act like an American)!
Along with this nifty little card came a equally nifty little social security card...which sporadically encourages me to slur "getta job" while chugging my alcohol free beer and waving around my candy cigarette (pregnancy has really limited my white trash options).
