I will be home for Christmas, but I am also leaving my other home. Today was my last day of work before the Christmas holidays. I remember last year right around this time there were a lot of parties with lots of drinks and cold weather…this year is a little different.
Today, right before I left the office, my counterpart called me into the office with our driver. The three of us really think of ourselves as our own little team – so she wanted to say a special "Merry Christmas" to us. She had gone out to buy our favorite drinks, slightly different than the kind of drinks I was partaking in last year. This year there were sodas: a Fanta for her, a Coke for my Driver and a Tab for me. I thought it was a lovely gesture (because she had taken the time to pick out our favorite drinks), and we had a fantastic time toasting our time together (of course we prayed before we drank our sodas, would you expect anything less?)
So now that my bags are packed.

Can't wait to see you! Have a safe and restful journey. The drinks are on ice and the fireplace burns brightly awaiting your arrival (but the stockings are not yet hung, nor for the matter, is the tree up)! Ho, Ho, Ho! We love you, Mom and Dad
