Having the trainees stay here with me for a couple of days was really fantastic, mostly because it reminded me of how much has changed and how far I've come in a year. The questions that they asked me were many of the same questions that I had when I first moved to Botswana – the only difference was that now I was the one providing the answers.

The Beat Goes On
I took a nap on Saturday afternoon only to wake up to a sound outside that was odd and yet vaguely familiar. My first thought was, why would a cow be running around my house? The sound of a cow bell echoing through my house was enough to get me up. The scene in my backyard was similar to that of barnyard.
I was not the only one to witness this little intrusion…staying with me were three new Peace Corps Volunteer Trainees that came to see what life is like in Mochudi. I thought a cow running around the house and then stopping to eat my weeds was a perfect depiction of what life is like here!
It was great getting the chance to show them around the village and to introduce them to the friends that I have made here. I think sometimes I still feel a little bit like a visitor, but when I could see myself through the eyes of the new trainees I realized that I am very well integrated here and that I truly have made Mochudi my home.
