On our vacation…
Dereje proposed!!!
Dereje proposed in front of 9 strangers that we became very close to– very fast! It was such a beautiful, amazing moment...the women were crying, the men were cheering, and we were just really happy!
After everyone at the lodge toasted us with fantastic champagne, Dereje and I made our way back to our room only to find it filled with candles and flowers laid beautifully all over the room just for us. I hope that everyone, at some point in their life, gets to experience the happiness that we have been filled with since the moment we were engaged!

Congratulations! I have been following your maeto since you moved there! Your ring is absolutely beautiful. You two look so happy! Do you have any plans yet, where, when, etc?
I am thinking that the next time you visit your sister that I should come up to NC and hang out with the two of you, or maybe when/if you move back to the states! :)
I was looking last month to see if you and Dereje were dating and I couldn't find anything! Tell us how you met, and everything!

There was so much happiness before the engagement! Now there is even more!!! Hope this puts a little pressure on you to get back to Botswana and celebrate with us!!
Liz- we should definitely make a plan to get together when I'm back in the states! Dereje and I don't have any formalized plans of yet...we're just still spinning from the engagement. Dereje and I started dating last July...pretty much as soon as I moved to Mochudi! Hope things are well with you! Will keep you updated!
