My internet access is limited

Just wanted to write to let you know that I am doing well and loving living in Mochudi, minus its lack of internet! I am currently in a village that is about 3.5 hrs north of Mochudi in a town called Francistown. I am here for a week long conference with my counterpart and about 7 peace corps friends...so basically we're having a great time! Francistown is the second biggest city (Gaborone is the largest) in Botswana! There are lots of things but no movie theatre, and sparse internet cafes (especially because I am in workshops all day)! Lately I have been unable to log onto my G-mail account, so I apologize to anyone who has been waiting for a reply...I am hopeful that I will have this problem solved in the near future!
My conference that I am inovolved in right now is all about comprehensive reporting of HIV programs on a national level. It is great to hear all about what other districts are doing and how they manage their planning, but most of all it is interesting to meet all of the other District AIDS Coordinators who can be a huge resource. In fact, just recently I met a peace corps volunteer who has been here a year and lives in a district close to me. She has taught herself how to make necklaces out of newsweek magazines (I'm sure she could also make the necklaces out of my US Weeklys...but then where would I get my smut reading from?). I have scheduled for this volunteer to come to my district later this month to go to a retreat camp that I am planning for a support group that we have in the district for people living with AIDS. I am so excited to have an income generating project that is not only very inexpensive, but also produces beautiful products! She adds a shine element to the paper so that it looks just like a bead!
I hope to write another message before leaving Francistown! I hope everyone is well and can't wait until I can check my e-mail again!

Given the number of exclamation points you have in this post, it's obvious you're glad to have a little technology available :)

That's what she said.

Manda, I didn't know US Weekly had international delivery. Thank goodness for that! :)

Also, do they segregate people with AIDS into districts?
